Founded by Claire Pasquier and Sarah Théry, the COLLECTIF MEUTE develops pluridisciplinary, immersives, participatory creations accessible to non professionals : FURIEUX, community opera, (EINE) WINTERREISE, electro-lyrical performance, TOASTER SYMPHONY, musical impromptu, ISOLOIR, interactive installation. The creation processes are designed to be free and safe spaces for expression, research and cooperation, enhancing access to the performing arts and to classical music.
The COLLECTIF MEUTE develops projects at the confluence of the research-action-creation in partnership with the University of Lille and the Fondation CARASSO. (EINE) WINTERREISE, their last creation, is co-produced by the Opéra de Lille and finalist of the prestigious FEDORA Education Prize. It will première in autumn 23.
The team, located in the region Hauts-de-France, deploys actions towards Belgium, with cross-border projects. Their international implant is developed through partnerships with European networks ENOA and RESEO and with the French Institute.
Sarah Théry
Mezzo-Soprano - Dramaturge
The French Mezzo Sarah Théry combining a dark and strong voice with a commanding stage presence and a probing intellect, has headlined productions and concerts at preeminent arts institutions around Europe. Sarah is also a voice of social consciousness. She explores and develops new forms of performances, adapted to a larger audience.
She co-founded COLLECTIF MEUTE un 2019 to develop projects that share a sound, formal and process research, with citizens, artists, researchers. She has been working regularly in prison as well as with social and educational centers. In 2020, at the demand of the Festival d’Aix en Provence she created Vibrations, a participatory show around opera for voice and vibraphone adapted for all sorts of audiences. She also founded the quartet Ensemble Tempus which mixes baroque repertoire with jazz and world music .
Holding a Bachelor degree in French Modern Literature she combines her passion for writing with her work as a performer by presenting a weekly radio show on the national channel Musiq3 in Belgium.

Claire Pasquier studied fine arts in France and set design in Milan insta Brera Academy. After working as a set designer and photographer, she worked as an assistant director in opera in France, Italy, Germany and Austria. She co-founded COLLECTIF MEUTE un 2019 to develop projects that share a sound, formal and process research, with citizens, artists, researchers. The team designs inclusive and inovative ceation processes, hybrid artistical forms and economical models.
Claire develops a scenic language based on the diversity of the performers and their singularities, using participatory projects as a key to create bridges between an art that can be difficult to access and a renewed public that reflects our society. She makes the act of creation itself a militant gesture and a research and mediation process, experimenting with new forms and narratives.
