Texte : La base de travail du chorégraphe Juan Dominguez est généralement le langage écrit. Lors des représentations de ses pièces, il n’y a souvent pas de corps dansant : cette absence joue sur les attentes du spectateur venu voir un spectacle de danse, force son imaginaire et sa capacité d’évocation.

Pour Blue, son approche a consisté à étudier le corps et le mouvement par l’intermédiaire des langages : comment notre langue maternelle et notre culture influent sur notre posture, nos déplacements, nos rapports sociaux… bref comment la linguistique peut influer sur nos perceptions.

Chorégraphe et performeur espagnol vivant à Berlin, Juan Domínguez, travaille depuis 1987 en tant qu’interprète avec des chorégraphes européens et enseigne dans diverses classes et ateliers. Depuis 2003, il est directeur du festival In-Presentable / La Casa Encendida de Madrid.

In the last few years, Juan Dominguez has based his work on the written language and has developed the concept of the absence of the body. In this way, he aims for the spectator’s imagination and evocative ability. This choreographer and performer has been the director of the In-Presentable / La Casa Encendida de Madrid festival since 2003.
